As an educational charity, SDC is committed to supporting people in their colour education journey. Occasionally students may need a helping hand financially and we have funding available to offer a limited number of bursaries each year.

She is also an SDC bursary recipient and was recently highly commended in the Embroiderers’ Guild Beryl Dean Award for Teaching Excellence in Embroidery and Design for 2017.
With thanks to Dr K S Murthy, Pidilite Industries Ltd, for reporting on this recent SDC EC event.
If there is anything in this world that has no alternative, it is water. A good thought becomes reality only when implemented. With this in mind, SDC EC organised a half-day seminar titled “Water: No more a Cheap Resource” in December 2015 in Mumbai for the benefit of the textile processing industry.
SDC member Anthea Mallinson from Canada reports on her recent visit to Yorkshire including SDC’s head office in Bradford.
Having returned to Canada, to the numerous small, unexpected, craft-dyer jobs of the film industry costumes dyer, I can reflect with pleasure on the things I saw, the SDC people I met and all that I learned in my brief visit to Bradford, now several weeks ago. The textile industry certainly looms large around Bradford, with a towering architectural history and, to someone who comes from a part of the world where there really is no textile production, a presence that is still alive.
