Students from Ireland once again demonstrated outstanding talent at the Irish heat of the SDC International Design Competition. Hosted by the National College of Art and Design (NCAD) in Dublin, we welcomed students from Galway Mayo Institute of Technology, Belfast Met, University of Ulster and NCAD for a day of keynote presentations and competition judging.
Congratulations to Jordan Currie who was recently awarded the prize by SDC’s Ireland region for the best use of colour in the graduate show at the University of Ulster.
Each year the SDC International Design Competition attracts hundreds of entries worldwide.
However, not everyone who is interested in the competition is eligible to enter. We were therefore excited to be contacted by tutor Claire Concannon from Belfast Metropolitan College who had read this year’s brief ‘Making it Personal’ and thought it a great project but her students were too young to enter. Claire asked if we would consider supporting an ‘in-house’ competition working with the brief.
