Congratulations to Laura Ensinger from the University of Huddersfield, the first of this year’s finalists to be announced in the SDC International Design Competition 2016.
The UK final took place as part of SDC’s annual Day of Celebration at the magnificent Merchant Adventurers’ Hall in York. The competition is a key part of SDC’s educational and charitable remit and a vital part of SDC’s relationship with universities and colleges internationally.
We recently caught up with young designer Shivangi Lahoty, who was the 2014 Indian finalist in the SDC International Design Competition. We like to keep in touch with all our design competition finalists, so it was a particular pleasure to hear how her career has developed since taking part in the competition, with the launch of her new brand and a recent successful catwalk show launching her range for pregnant women.
Huge congratulations to Diamond Thaweesak Chattuwan, from Khon Kaen University in Thailand, and Tasneem Patrawala from the B D Somani Institute of Art and Fashion Technology in India, runners in the SDC International Design Competition 2015.
The grand final took place in November at the Fashion and Textile Museum in London. It was a pleasure to welcome the finalists from around the world, all of whom had won a regional heat in their own country.
