A History of Pigments Review

‘A History of Pigments – Cave painting to Modern Day’ was the title of this recent event organised by SDC’s North of England Region.

The evening started with a hot buffet, once again spoken very highly of by all in attendance! Conversation flowed and was enjoyed by all, a mix of attendees from all aspects of industry and academia, even a couple of officers of the Midlands region!

Dr Christine Holdstock was introduced by Dr Muriel Rigout, Honorary Chair of the North of England Region. Christine started the evening by showing the group a ‘hand-crocheted-space-dyed’ cardigan.

SDC EC focuses on Colour Communication

This event took place recently at Rachana Sansad School of Fashion and Textile Design in Mumbai, India. It was jointly organised by the Mumbai Chapter, SDC EC and Rachana Sansad. It was a capacity event, reflecting the enthusiasm of the delegates and was attended by over 180 students, faculties, heads of department and principals from various institutes as well as industry professionals and participants of the competition.

Innovations in Textile Technology and Fashion towards Circular Economy

The textile industry and fashion industry are global and through online, on demand information, the SDC is ensuring these industries can be responsive to change. Embracing the concept of the ‘circular economy’ SDC EC in conjunction with Rachana Sansad School of Fashion and Textile Design, organised Innovations in Textile Technology and Fashion towards Circular Economy in Mumbai, attended by 200 delegates.
